Summary

Family Separation Allowance (FSA) is payable to service members with dependent family members when the service member is required to be away from their permanent duty station for more than 30 continuous days in a Temporary Duty (TDY) status and their dependents are not residing at or near the temporary station.

Eligibility

Airman holding his childAir National Guard Service members serving on state active duty are not eligible for Family Separation Allowance.
