ESGR

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense organization established to promote cooperation and understanding between Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from the employee's military commitment. The ESGR Ombudsman Services Program provides neutral counseling and mediation of issues relating to compliance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).

G.I. Bill

The Post-9/11 GI Bill (chapter 33 benefits) is an education benefit program specifically for military members who served on active duty on or after September 11, 2001. Dual TRICARE and VA

When leaving active duty, Service members may be entitled to or eligible for benefits offered by TRICARE and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), depending on whether the Service member retires or separates. DAF announces additional guidance implementing changes in response to SECWAR memorandums

ARLINGTON, VA, August 31, 2026 - The Department of the Air Force recently announced additional guidance for implementation for several Secretary of War directives. The changes include updates to the handling of medical shaving profiles, the requirement for Mask Fit Validation due by Dec. 31, 2026, a reform to chaplain evaluations and promotions, and Religious Affiliation Code updates.

Joint Base Charleston Becomes Joint Base Lindsey Graham in DTS on Sept 1

ALEXANDRIA, VA, August 28, 2026 - Effective September 1, 2026, Joint Base (JB) Charleston will be renamed Joint Base (JB) Lindsey Graham in the Defense Travel System (DTS). If you plan to travel to JB Charleston on or after September 1, 2026, you must update your travel documents in DTS to the new name, reflecting the new per diem location. If you fail to update your documents, DTS will calculate your per diem as $0, and you may experience issues with lodging rates and system pre-audits.
