ALEXANDRIA, VA, August 28, 2026 - Effective September 1, 2026, Joint Base (JB) Charleston will be renamed Joint Base (JB) Lindsey Graham in the Defense Travel System (DTS). If you plan to travel to JB Charleston on or after September 1, 2026, you must update your travel documents in DTS to the new name, reflecting the new per diem location. If you fail to update your documents, DTS will calculate your per diem as $0, and you may experience issues with lodging rates and system pre-audits.
Note: You can only select the new name in DTS starting September 1, 2026.
- Trips ending before September 1, 2026
No action is necessary. Keep using the former name (JB Charleston). - Trips starting on or after September 1, 2026
You must use the new name (JB Lindsey Graham). - Trips crossing over September 1, 2026 (starting before September 1 and ending after)
You must add a second per diem location to your itinerary. Use the former name for travel dates before September 1, and use the new name for dates on or after September 1. - Trips created before September 1, 2026, for travel starting on or after September 1, 2026
You must update your itinerary to reflect the new per diem location.
You can update your per diem location in DTS in two ways:
- Before or during travel: Amend your Travel Authorization.
- After travel: Update the location on your Travel Voucher when you return from temporary duty.
